We have worked hard to make KanBo even better, and have added a number of exciting improvements. In this article, you will find all of the features that have been shipped in the KanBo 2.7.5 Release.

Board collections

The KanBo home was previously the landing page of KanBo which every user could design according to his needs. KanBo Board Collections are the replacement of KanBo Home and allow you to have multiple collections on which you can arrange your boards. For example, there can be one collection for Marketing related matters, the second one for HR matters, etc. Boards on them can be structured by users themselves.

Display List names under the title of a card in Board view

Now when you switch to any of 5 available Board views, you will always know to which list a card belongs to. Information regarding the list of a card will be displayed under the list’s title.

Filter improvements

Now, when the filter is enabled, you will be able to quickly close it and turn off filtering. There is a special closing button for it.

Preserving labels when moving cards between boards

With feedback from our customers in mind, we have changed the logic and behavior behind moving cards. Now when there is a card equipped with a certain label in a source and destination boards, the card will be moved with this label. The label must have the same name and color on both boards.

Hide sections showing user activity

Due to political or legal concerns, you might want to hide sections showing user’s activity in KanBo.

These sections are User’s activity and 2 parts of Analytics: Trending Cards as well as Most Active Users. Now it’s possible to easily hide or configure this in KanBo.

KanBo Help

KanBo will be equipped with a special button in the menu under your Avatar. With it, you can enter our Knowledge base and learn more about KanBo. This is a great addition as users can easily open a related site with helpful articles and instructions. You can also specify if you would like to use another link in KanBo Help.

Easily mention users in Todo items

When you move a user’s avatar into Todo items, you now will be able to choose if you would like to mention user or convert this Todo item into a subcard.

New shortkey for search

Use „s” to get right into the Search section no matter where in KanBo you are currently.

Due date view in MyBoard

MyBoard is now also equipped with the Due date grouping, presenting you cards due in chosen time frames.

New sorting of labels

Labels added to a card will be ordered in the same way as labels in the main Board section.

Indication of users who have seen the card

It is now indicated in the Card’s stream who have entered the card and seen particular activities of the stream. You will see icons of users near to notifications, marked with the monitor icon, an indication which part of the stream has been seen by who.

Typing indicator

Now it’s easy to see whether your colleagues are typing their comments or answering your message in KanBo. You will see whether someone starts typing in the message box in real time.

Card relations improvements

You can now open relations in a new tab from the Card relations section. We have made an improvement also in the subcard group, while you are using the Megapicker. When there is a card already added as a child, it won’t be shown again in the Megapicker’s search results.

Now you can see references of a document not only in Board’s Documents section but also in a Card. References will show you to which Cards a document is attached.

Configure how documents should be opened from KanBo

By default, while clicking on three dots (more) button near a document in a Card, you will see options only for: opening a document, opening it in the browser (Office Online), opening in Office suite app and downloading. There is also the detach option. While clicking on the document directly, it will be opened on your local PC without the ability to edit

On the administrative level, you change the behavior and order of options for editing and opening a document using the four options:

  1. opening in Office suite,
  2. opening in Office Online,
  3. Opening as a file on your PC,
  4. Downloading the file.

Outlook App improvements

Outlook App is now adjusted for Board Collections. In the Boards picker, you can now look for all Boards across your collections. To find them more quickly, use search inside this field instead of the dropdown.

New Search design and improvements

We have improved the performance of the Search engine. It’s now also equipped with the ability to show you in which section of a card your query is located. The location (such as Todo item, Note, Comment) is indicated with a special icon.
